Personal Readiness Evaluation for Postsecondary (PREP) An online student self-evaluation of characteristics associated with postsecondary participation and success
PREP for Students in Grades 6-12
The PREP assessment poses 34 statements about student education-related beliefs and expectations, educational effort, and academic behaviors. Students indicate the degree of agreement or disagreement with each of the statements. Most students will complete the assessment in less than 15 minutes. Students access the assessment from their Minnesota CIS portfolios.
PREP Assessment Reports
The student report includes bar graphs that measure student development on three factor groups, the student's responses to each of the 34 assessment items, and the student's reflections on postsecondary readiness. The student report is available to the student from the CIS student portfolio and to the counselor through the PREP Administration and Reporting Tools, which are located in the CIS administration tools.
Reports for Counselors
Counselor reports are available through the PREP Administration and Reporting Tools, which are located in the CIS administration tools.
An individual student factor summary lists risk factors in three groups:
An elaborated individual report includes the factor group listings above, as well as the student's survey responses and reflections.
Group reports provide numbers and frequency counts for all demographic items and survey items.
Group comparison reports enable within group comparisons and comparisons with other students in the state or the country.
Three factor reports provide listings of students at greatest risk under each factor grouping and list factor items in order of most to fewest students associated with each risk factor. Factor report items reveal (by hyperlink) listings of students associated with each factor and display a counselor messaging tool for sending electronic messages to students.
All group reports, group comparison reports, and factor reports, may elicit subgroup responses by invoking the following filter elements singly or in combination:
